Welcome to beautiful, scenic Jay, Vermont! Thank you for your visit. Jay, Vermont is a small, scenic ski and golf town (thanks to Jay Peak Ski & Golf Resort) located at the very top of Vermont in Orleans county and borders Quebec, Canada to the north. Jay is in an area of the state known as the "Northeast Kingdom" and is one of the last "undeveloped" towns where you still find peace and serenity while enjoying the world-class recreational opportunities that exist within our borders. Activities in Jay include skiing, hiking, fishing, hunting, mountain biking, snowshoeing, autumn leaf peeping, and golfing as well as a soon to be completed NHL size Hockey Rink & proposed Indoor Water Park at Jay Peak Ski & Golf Resort. Annual town events include Green Up Day 1st Saturday of May, Summer Fest held on the 2nd Saturday of August along with Jay Peak's Annual Music Festival, the Annual Town of Jay Benefit Golf Tournament, Columbus Day Weekend events for both day and evening and the Annual Tree Lighting, Caroling and Santa Visit in December.
Jay is in the midst of a town-wide revitalization project that began with the creation of the Jay Focus Group on November 4, 2007. The Jay Focus Group is now a Charitable 501(c)3 organization as of April 30, 2009. The Jay Community Land Trust Recreational Park is on its way to becoming a viable recreational spot for all to enjoy throughout the four seasons. The Jay Town Hall is constantly being upgraded and the Jay Community Center is near completion. View our Calendar of Events page for daily, weekly, yearly events and fundraisers. Check out the Community News section for town news and information. Community Services gives you information on town services and links for everything from how to join the Jay Volunteer Fire Dept to how to apply for assistance in these hard economic times. View Town Government information including Select Board, Zoning Board and Sewer Board meeting minutes. Stay connected with Jay thru jayVT.com no matter where you live.

Immediate position open for Zoning Board & Planning Commission. Now is a perfect time to get involved. Both the town of Jay Zoning By-laws and the Town Plan are mandated for review. Submit your name to Peter Fina, Fred Cushing, Town Clerk Tara Morse, or a Jay Selectboard member for consideration. | JayVT.com is Supported by These Platinum Sponsors

You may have noticed that we are changing the look of jayVT.com. We are looking for scenic photos of Jay and local residents ( animals & people) to put in our banner. If you have a photo you would like to see on the banner please email them (make a note of who/when/where photo was taken) or drop off a photo at the Jay Town Clerk's office for scanning by a web site volunteer. Our aim is to change the photos monthly. We hope to have our new look finished soon. Below is a sample banner that Rich Douglass our webmaster put together. |
