Due to changes in markets, we are updating our glass recycling policy here in the NEKWMD. We can now only accept GLASS BOTTLES & JARS of any color. We can no longer accept porcelain, pyrex, ceramics, windows, etc. We are sorry for any inconvenience these changes cause. Remember - glass bottles and jars are banned from landfill disposal, but the other mentioned items can be disposed in the trash. As of March 2016, The State of Vermont has issued a variance to the Troy/Jay Recycle Center pertaining to the July 1, 2016 Leaf, Yard, and clean wood debris mandate. The recycling center for Troy and Jay is not required to collect and recycle Leaf, Yard & Clean Wood Debris. Options for disposal include composting Lead and Yard Debris at home, or bringing to Lyndonville Recycling Center. as of 7.1.2020 Not allowed in Trash, Compost or Take to Recycle Center IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS – PLEASE CONTACT THE NORTHEAST KINGDOM WASTE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT AT (802) 626-3532 or (800) 734-4602, www.nekwmd.org, e-mail progmgr@nekwmd.orgLocal Town Representatives
