Dale Irene Cota

Dale Irene Cota, 83, of Jay died peacefully October 24, 2007, in Newport.

Mrs. Cota was born September 22, 1924, in Lowell, a daughter of Edward and Sara (Morse) Sargent.

In 1944 she married Arnold Cota, who survives her. She and her husband owned and operated their farm in Jay for over 35 years.She was a founding member of the Jay Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She spent many hours supporting Fire Dept projects, and she loved to play bingo at the firehouse. Many  bingo players remember her delicious pies. She loved to cook, to the delight of her family, and she cooked at the Jay school. Dale liked to knit and crochet. Her family was the love of her life, and she delighted in their visits. They enjoyed going dancing and listening to country music and playing cards.

She is survived by her children: Arnold and Mary Cota Jr. of Jay, Terry and Dorann Cota of St. Johnsbury, and Delbert and Ann Cota of Jay; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.

Funeral services were held October 28 at the Curtis-Britch Converse-Rushford Funeral Home in Newport
