Felix A. Turtur,62, of Jay passed away Friday August 20,2010 in Newport. He had been a self-employed carpenter, and was a former co-owner of the Snowline Lodge in Jay until 1986 with his wife Anne. He was born on November 23, 1947 in Elizabeth,NJ a son of Felix and Liselotte (Lippmann) Turtur. He graduated from Monmouth College in Monmouth,NJ, with a degree in education. A navy veteran, he married Anne Keenzel on February 9, 1974. A devoted family man, Mr. Turtur was known to many of his friends as Phil. He enjoyed skiing, surfing, camping, fishing, and doing carpentry work. He had been an educator in Irvington, NJ and Jay, Vt. He had also worked at Agri-Mark in Troy and Franklin Foods in Enosburg. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jessica Turtur and Jacqueline Turtur, a brother Ronald Turtur and his wife Marie of NJ, a sister Karen Amann and her husband George of NJ, and by several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be said at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday August 25, 2010 at St. Vincent de Paul Church in North Troy. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Mississquoi Ambulance Service, P.O.
