Teresa Nicole McDermut, passed away Saturday September 18,2010 at home in Jay, Vt, formerly of Montvale, N.J. with her loving family by her side. Mrs. McDermut was born December 6, 1909 in New York City the oldest of 6 children born to Giovanni and Marie Antoinette Rinaldi. She grew up in Cliffside Park, New Jersey and after graduating from Richmond Business College she worked at McFadden Publishing Co in New York City. She married Whitney B. McDermut, her beloved, on August 25,1937. He predeceased her on December 10,2000. The early part of her married life was devoted to raising her family which she excelled at. She was a stylish lady with a natural gift for decorating. She also assisted her husband in the family business. She volunteered with numerous organizations: she was President of the Pascack Valley High School, P.T.A., and served on the Girl Scout Council of Bergen City, New Jersey; the Jamie Shulman Foundation and she delivered meals on wheels into her late 70's. She was a member of the Ladies of St Anne at St. Vincent de Paul Church of North Troy. She was blessed with a generous heart. . She is survived by two children: Whitney B. McDermut, Jr of Bombay, NY, and Irene McDermut of Jay,Vt, and by two granddaughters Heather Lee Moretti and her husband Lawrence and Tracy Lynn Pacio and by a grandson Whitney B. McDermut, II1 and by one great granddaughter Sydney Moretti all of California. She is also survived by one sister Marie Josphine Ford of Rhode Island and she also leaves many nieces and nephews. Mrs. McDermut is also survived and will be deeply missed by many friends in the area who have come to love this wonderful lady and will be especially missed by her "special daughter" Jeannie Lawson who cannot be thanked enough for the kindness and loving care to Teresa over the last several weeks and for the time spent with her over these many years since she moved to the Jay area. She was predeceased by three brothers John, Joseph, and Patrick Rinaldi and by one sister Alvira Capuzzi. Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday September 21, 2010 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in North Troy with the Rev. Henry Mlinganisa celebrating a mass of Christian burial. Interment took place at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday September 22, 2010 at the George Washington Cemetery in Paramas, New Jersey.
